Cambridge community policing update: ASB and knife crime |
||
|
Dear Resident, Thank you to everyone who attended our Cambridge Community Policing meeting last night on Teams. Updates on previous priorities Fitzroy Street vehicle related anti-social behaviour Officers have stepped up activity on Fitzroy Street to tackle anti-social behaviour, with a particular focus on illegal eScooters and eBikes. More than 400 have now been seized across the city as part of ongoing enforcement. Resources have been reassigned to provide a visible uniformed presence in and around the city centre at key times and days, helping to deter ASB and respond quickly to issues. PCSO Basra has also joined the City Centre Team and is actively briefed to deal with anti-social behaviour while on patrol, supporting sustained engagement and enforcement in the area. Knife crime Officers have been actively tackling knife crime through Op Guardian, focusing on early intervention with young people at risk of harm or serious youth violence. Work has centred on prevention, supporting families, reducing incidents and protecting communities while building trust with those most affected. Targeted action is helping to reduce the severity and frequency of offences, alongside stronger partnerships with schools, youth organisations and safeguarding leads to deliver a coordinated, long-term approach.
New priorities for the next three months: Two-wheeled enabled crime and anti-social behaviour across Cambridge Knife crime
Thank you for your continued support.
📅Next meeting: 7 September 7-8pm. Kind Regards, Inspector Shawn Emms Cambridge Neighbourhood Team | ||
